The journey of Qua began from a trip to Vietnam in 2002, where the founder Meng Yee was mesmerised by the high-quality craftsmanship of a particular workshop that she was at – whom we work closely with till date. Embracing the partnership and where the idea took root, the name “Qua” is inspired by an abbreviation of 'gifts' in Vietnamese. Qua was born from the desire to breathe meaning into gifting, and as a brand, it is synonymous with meticulous artistry which crafts distinctive lacquerware that lasts generations.

Handmade by Artisans, Designed to Endure
We are the first to bring to the local market a refined range of lacquerware with a wide variety of home accessories and gift products. Over the years, we have established a foundation of trust with our customers. The Qua lacquerware is characterised by its distinctive rich lustre and enduring shine, which is painstakingly handmade and polished by our artisans. A unique material, working with natural lacquer requires utmost patience and skills, which is evident in the beautiful sheen of all the finished products.

Proudly Singaporean, we make it a point to seek out various Singaporean artists and companies for collaborations over the years. What we hope for when the recipient receives a Qua lacquerware is the recognition that it is not just a simple decoration piece, but also a celebration of the Asian culture. We have also recently expanded some of our most popular designs into other non-lacquer products, such as decorative cushions, notebooks, and business card cases. As of 2023, we are now Made with Passion!
